Better Than Making Hot Dogs
Well, it’s been a long time since opinions were put down here in this space. It seems as though the only serious topic lately has been the national health plan, and nobody listens to anybody else’s opinions, including mine, on that. Maybe it’s because I’m not a Senator and my vote is not worth buying. Putting across this health bill is making hot dogs look dainty.
Let’s take a break with some lighter fare, like a New Years message my friend Blain Fowler sent from Canada. Here are a few samples to help you start a new year:
Old Farmer’s Advice
Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong.
Keep skunks and bankers at a distance.
Life is simpler when you plow around the stump.
Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads.
You cannot unsay a cruel word.
Every path has a few puddles.
The best sermons are lived, not preached.
Most of the stuff people worry about ain’t never gonna happen anyway.
Don’t judge folks by their relatives.
If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin’.
The biggest troublemaker you’ll ever have to deal with, watches you from the mirror every mornin’.
Always drink upstream from the herd.
Timing has a lot to do with the outcome of a Rain dance.
Live simply. Love generously. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.
