Joe The Plumber, Meet Sarah Cheerleader
If the opinion polls are right, we’re going to miss a lot of good entertainment in Washington if McCain-Palin are not elected.
I still don’t think it was a mistake for McCain to pick Palin, as many savants are saying now. I think it was a brilliant choice politically, not necessarily good governing. She really whooped-up the troops. And after all, the guy has to be elected or it’s all over. (Think Dan Quayle.) Honestly, could anything have saved the election of a candidate whose campaign is based on opposing everything his predecessor (in his own party) has done for eight years that he supported for eight years — even though he runs as an independent renegade?
If elected, do you know who Sarah Palin would be like? Alice Roosevelt Longworth! — which is ironic because John McCain is being compared to Teddy Roosevelt, who was Alice’s father and made a career of bucking the party establishment. Outspoken Alice was a trial to her father, but there’s too much to the Alice story, so I’ll have to save her for later. (I’m trying to write shorter stuff – remember?)
How would Sarah act if elected? I don’t know, but with our Moose Huntin’ Mama in the White House, it wouldn’t be quiet. Here’s my suggestion: She should use her very best talent – the one developed back in high school – as a cheerleader. She could organize the White House wives into a Cheerleading Auxiliary. Wouldn’t that be fun? (A lot better than Joe Biden forming a Men’s Choir.)
It seems only fair to start her out with a theme song. How about this?
We’re the girls who love our leader from Wasilla, A-K,
And we’re here to make sure you know we will have our say.
Our husbands may think they’re going to run the whole show,
And, yes, we’ll let them until we decide to say, “Oh no”!
If our President should falter in leading the attack,
Our Sarah will set him straight and then command him: Go Big Mac!
Take it from there, Sarah.
